Today I start a new way of life.  I’ve been sedentary too long.  Last night my YOUNG  friend, the 50 + year old told me how she has, since Christmas, forced herself to go walking every morning for at least 20 minutes.  The weather didn’t matter.  Rain, snow , sleet or shine, she walked.  And I have to admit that I look like a blimp alongside her.

I have been swaddling myself for a couple of months now and the drag from my derriere competing with that from my belly anchor me to a standstill.  I feel like a barge fully loaded that has run aground. So, here I am , dressed , running shoes and all, ready to battle the elements.  I know I am sounding negative to compare this to a battle.  I must train my mind to look forward to this hellish venture.  Oh dear!  Here I go again.  Aww, that will change.  A few times out and I will feel so good that looking back on my feelings this morning will just bring a smile to my face.

I am off!

Look out world.  Here I come!

See that flash!

Guess who.

  1. Soooo funny! I need to take your message to heart and get out there, too. Enjoy your walk.

    • I had a lovely walk. The wind was quite cool in my face but on the return ,it was in my back and I actually felt my temperature rising from the heat of the sun. Forty minutes logged in today. I am going to aim for a walk every day even if I have to do it at the Jack Byrne Arena.

  2. Glad to hear that you are motivated to get out and move. Now if only I could get myself motivated to get back to WII fit! Yup, that’s it …. I’ll start again tomorrow. Thanks for the little push.
